Lisbon, we’re here to stay.

We’ve just announced that Web Summit will be staying in Lisbon, Portugal for the next decade.

Some of you will remember us leaving Dublin three years ago. This was hard. Leaving Lisbon would have been incredibly hard. Our strong foundations here have always been complemented by the hospitality of the people of Lisbon, and the city itself is an ideal location with great infrastructure and a thriving startup community. I feel like we’ve found our long-term home.

We reached this decision after a competitive bidding process and year of talks with 20 other major European cities, including London and Valencia, Berlin and Paris. I am so thankful to these incredible cities for their time and efforts.

So what’s next? Improving our attendee experience will continue to be our core focus. We will double the existing venue over the next three years so that we can welcome many more of you to Lisbon.
