Accessibility at Web Summit

How do I request accessibility adjustments?
Please fill out this form to make a request. Alternatively, you can contact the Web Summit team at info@websummit.com.

Requests should be made as soon as you have secured your ticket to Web Summit.

I am a speaker or other invited guest of Web Summit. How do I request accessibility accommodations?
Please reach out directly to the Web Summit staff member who is assisting you.

What is the deadline for accessibility requests?
We may be unable to grant some requests if they are made after October 11, 2024. We will do our best to honour requests made after this deadline, however services cannot be guaranteed after that date.

Can my support companion accompany me to Web Summit?
Attendees who require personal assistance during Web Summit can request a companion pass. To request this, please contact the Web Summit team using the accessibility requirements form or via email at info@websummit.com.

What services are not provided by Web Summit?
Web Summit does not provide:

  • Devices that are personal or individually prescribed, such as wheelchairs, prescription eyeglasses or hearing aids.
  • Services of a personal nature, such as assistance in eating, toileting or dressing, or the pushing of wheelchairs.
  • Connections to soundboards.
  • Guides and sign language interpreters for Night Summit or any third-party events.

Where is the accessibility desk located?
The accessibility desk is located in the main registration area. An exact location and opening times will be published closer to the event.

There is also a dedicated desk in the Forum registration area for speakers and their invited guests.

Are service animals permitted at Web Summit?
Web Summit permits service dogs trained specifically to assist a person with disabilities. A service dog must be readily identifiable as one that is being used by the person for reasons relating to the person’s disability. This must be done through the use of a vest or harness worn by the animal, or through the person providing official documentation accrediting the dog as a service animal as defined by law.

Animals whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support are not permitted at Web Summit.

A dedicated relief area for service animals will be available onsite. The location will be shown on the venue map when it is published.

I am visually impaired. How can Web Summit assist me with navigating printed materials?
Please feel free to ask a volunteer or member of staff to assist you with reading printed materials.

Is session transcription available?
Transcription services are not available at Web Summit.

Is there an audio description service available?
Audio description services are not available at Web Summit.

Is there a closed captioning service available?
Closed captions are available for content on Centre Stage only. Captions for this stage can be viewed on the Web Summit mobile or web app. Captions are provided in English.

Does Web Summit provide sign language interpreters?
Web Summit can provide attendees with a sign language interpreter when a request has been made in advance. Requests should be made via the accessibility requirements form as soon as you have secured your ticket to Web Summit.

Is strobe lighting in use during Web Summit?
Strobe lighting will not be in use at Web Summit.

Is there designated accessible seating?
Designated seating is available at all Web Summit stages. All designated accessible seating is based on capacity and provided on a first come first served basis. Unclaimed seating may be opened to the general audience. Please ask a member of staff for assistance.

What mobility devices are allowed at Web Summit?
Wheelchairs, three- or four-wheel electric scooters, walkers, canes and crutches are allowed and are reasonably accommodated. For safety reasons, requests to use other power-driven mobility devices will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us using the accessibility requirements form.

Where can I charge my medical or mobility device during the event?
Charging points are available throughout the venue.

Please note: The voltage requirements in Portugal may be different to what you normally use for your device. Web Summit does not provide extension leads or adapters.

Is accessible parking available at Web Summit?
Accessible parking spaces are available in Parque Tejo, near the Altice Arena. Accessible parking is provided on a limited basis when it has been requested in advance using the accessibility requirements form.

If I need to get dropped off or picked up, is there a safe place for this close to the venue?
Yes, attendees can be picked up or dropped off at the designated drop-off area. The location will be shown on the venue map when it is published.

Are there accessible bathrooms at Web Summit?
Yes, accessible bathrooms are available across the venue. The locations will be shown on the venue map when it is published.

Are there all-gender bathrooms at Web Summit?
There are all-gender bathrooms available outside the pavilions.

I have a severe food allergy and/or dietary restriction. Does Web Summit cater for attendees with dietary restrictions?
We have tried to ensure that there are suitable food options available to all attendees, and have worked with the venue to accommodate many dietary requirements. However, as with any large catering space, there is a risk of cross-contamination.

If you have a severe food allergy and/or dietary restriction, you are welcome to bring your own food to Web Summit.

Is Web Summit a fragrance-free environment?
Web Summit is not a fragrance-free environment, however we ask all attendees to consider not using perfume, cologne, aftershave or other fragrances for the duration of the conference.

The chemicals used in scented products can make people sick, especially those with fragrance sensitivities, asthma and/or allergies, and those who suffer from multiple chemical sensitivity.

Is there a prayer and sensory-friendly space at Web Summit?
There is a prayer and sensory-friendly space available for attendees. This peaceful space is open to all requiring a calm and sensory-friendly environment.

We kindly ask that attendees refrain from using phones or laptops, and from bringing in food, as this may disturb others’ prayer and meditation. This is not a meeting room.
