From the battle for Congress to the issues that shaped the vote, they examine the forces reshaping American politics and the lessons the election holds for both parties. With the 2028 presidential election already looming, what does the new political landscape mean for the future of Trumpism, the Democrats and the American left?

America after the midterms: Trump, the Democrats and what comes next

Who profits when the President moves the markets? In this talk Aaron Bastani and David Sirota investigate the increasingly blurred line between political power and financial gain in Trump’s America. From insider information and prediction markets to Wall Street and Big Tech, they examine a system where privileged access can potentially turn political decisions into private fortunes, and consider what this means for democracy, accountability and the global economy.
