Speakers at Web Summit 2022

As the next edition of our tech event edges closer and closer we wanted to keep you updated with the latest speakers announced for Web Summit 2022. Here are six exciting names you can check out in Lisbon, this November.

Jeff Shiner, CEO, 1Password

Over the last decade, Jeff has played a key role in scaling 1Password, the world’s leading password management company, to a US$6.8 billion valuation. Under his leadership, 1Password has grown from a company of 20 to employing more than 750 people. He has achieved this without compromising on the core principle of human-centric security.

1Password has millions of personal customers and more than 100,000 business customers across the globe, including Slack, WealthSimple and Gitlab. Prior to his current role, Jeff held senior management positions at IBM Canada and customer engagement agency Rosetta.

Barr Moses, co-founder & CEO, Monte Carlo

Barr co-founded Monte Carlo at the start of 2019 to address a gap in the market for reliable end-to-end data observability platforms. Since then, investors including Accel, GGV, Redpoint, Iconiq Growth, Salesforce Ventures and IVP have pumped more than US$100 million into operations. The company now counts Fox, Affirm, Vimeo, ThredUp and PagerDuty as users.

In 2021, Monte Carlo was recognised by Enterprise in their ‘Tech 30’ companies list. Monte Carlo also received accolades from CRN and was listed as an Inc. Best Workplace for 2021.

Barr is also a member of the Forbes Technology Council and has consulted on numerous enterprise software development ventures.

Dileep Thazhmon, co-founder & CEO, Jeeves

Prior to becoming co-founder and CEO of Jeeves. Dileep was co-founder and COO at Jeeng, a software developer that uses AI to create targeted user emails for publications. Under Dileep’s leadership, Jeeng was verified for triple-digit revenue growth for four years consecutively, and was listed as a business to watch out for by Deloitte, Inc. and Crains.

Outside of his commercial work, Dileep is also an investor at Voyager Capital.

Dileep graduated from Stanford University School of Business with an MBA in 2012. During his time at Stanford, he was made an Arbuckle Fellow and was given a Benchmark Fellowship.

Andrey Khusid, founder & CEO, Miro

More than 1,400 employees. 11 offices across the globe. One inspiring leader. Andrey is helping to build one of the world’s most collaborative online whiteboard platforms. Miro is currently used by 30 million registered whiteboarding fans, and 99 percent of Fortune 100 companies use the platform for brainstorming, research, design, agile ceremonies and more.

Prior to Miro, Andrey was the founder of award-winning creative agency, Vitamin Group. Andrey is also an active venture capital investor, recently contributing to funding rounds for up-and-coming tech startups Softr, Lokalise and Hopin.

Adwoa Aboah, model and founder, Gurls Talk

Adwoa is about as multi-hyphenate a talent as you can get. After studying drama at Brunel University, she won a leading role in the Sundance-awarded film to.get.her, before going on to star in major film and TV projects including Ghost in the Shell, Willow and Top Boy.

Within the fashion world, she has worked as a stylist and creative director, as well as a cover and runway model for Vogue, Dior, Calvin Klein , Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Fendi and Versace.

In 2018, Adwoa was named a Next Generation Leader by Time, and the following year appeared on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list. Her most recent project has seen her start Gurls Talk, a platform giving young women a safe space to discuss feminist issues.

Changpeng Zhao, founder & CEO, Binance

Chinese-Canadian business executive Changpeng is known for building Binance into the world’s largest crypto exchange by trading volume. He has also invested hundreds of millions of dollars through Binance to help fund Elon Musk’s purchase of social media platform Twitter.

Prior to founding Binance, Changpeng has served in a series of senior roles for major companies, including Bloomberg and Blockchain.com. Consistent with his entrepreneurial spirit, Changpeng also founded Chinese-based exchange systems provider BijieTech in 2015.

He attended McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, where he majored in computer science.
