1Password’s Jeff Shiner, LaunchDarkly’s Edith Harbaugh, and Anduril’s Palmer Luckey are among the speakers who will be on stage at Web Summit’s new Security Summit track, a space exploring the latest in security technology with topics including AI, machine learning, fraud and cyberwarfare.

From AI and machine learning to blockchain and quantum computing, we will be discussing the hottest topics in security and how they are changing the landscape of security forever.

Here are three of the top speakers that will be joining us at the inaugural Security Summit event:

Jeff Shiner – CEO, 1Password

Jeff Shiner is the CEO of 1Password, a leader in human-centric security and privacy. Since joining 1Password in 2013, Jeff has grown the company from 20 people to the more than 800 employee organisation it is today. Jeff also played a pivotal role in growing the company to a US$6.8B valuation, supporting over 100,000 businesses and millions of individual customers.

Skilled in digital strategy, eCommerce, search engine marketing (SEM), digital marketing, and analytics, Jeff has a demonstrated history of growing businesses and working in the computer and network security industry.

Prior to joining 1Password, Jeff was the senior development manager of WebSphere Commerce at IBM Canada for eight years. Jeff also led the 400-person technology division of Rosetta, a customer engagement services company.

Jeff is a frequent speaker at security conferences and has been featured in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Forbes.

Edith Harbaugh – co-founder and CEO, LaunchDarkly

Edith Harbaugh is the co-founder and CEO of LaunchDarkly, a software delivery platform that allows developers to control the rollout of features in their applications. Edith has over 20 years of experience in product development, engineering, and marketing for both consumer and enterprise startups.

Prior to co-founding LaunchDarkly, the Harvey Mudd College graduate served as product director at both TripIt and Concur. During this time at Vignette, Edith was granted two patents for deployment engineering.

The software CEO is a strong advocate for diversity in the tech industry, and is passionate about helping developers build better software faster. Edith is a frequent speaker at industry events, and contributes regularly to ReadWrite, writing about software trends.

Palmer Luckey – founder, Anduril

Palmer Luckey is the founder of Anduril, a defence technology company developing artificial intelligence and autonomous systems for the United States military. Palmer is also the co-founder of Oculus VR, a virtual reality headset company.

Palmer studied at the California Institute of Technology but dropped out to work on Oculus VR, which was sold to Facebook in 2014 for US$2 billion. The thirty year old is a self-taught engineer who worked from his parents’ basement to hack together the first prototypes of a virtual-reality headset that would eventually become the Oculus Rift.

With a net worth of US$400 million, the entrepreneur is the recipient of numerous accolades including the Progress Medal, awarded by the Royal Photographic Society (RPS) in 2016 and the Youth Award at the 2014 Smithsonian American Ingenuity Awards.
