Does anyone really understand quantum? Yes or no, it’s likely that quantum computers will play a major role in shaping our future. Here, Oxford Quantum Circuits CEO Ilana Wisby explores why quantum computing seems to be the next big thing in tech.
“Quantum computing isn’t simply a new, or faster, or better classical processor. It really does leverage completely new effects, and that is the effects of quantum principles,” said Ilana.
“By doing that, what we can do is create computation that is no longer limited to a simple binary, a zero or one state, as you have with a classical bit. Instead, we can open up a plethora of applications by being able to leverage a principle called ‘superposition’, which means you can be a one or a zero or pretty much anywhere in between.”
Ilana Wisby, CEO, Oxford Quantum Circuits was in conversation with Jeremy Kahn, senior writer at Fortune Magazine on the Deeptech stage at Web Summit 2022.
