From software testing and the creation of instant headshots to generating videos starring your own avatar, here are five GenAI startups joining us in Lisbon.

Quacks.ai

Quacks.ai, based in Lisbon, wants to change how front-end software testing is done with its GenAI QA platform. Their tagline, “Automate front-end software testing with a single sentence,” sums it up.

The idea is that writing automated tests should be as easy as outlining a natural language objective, such as “Sign up for a new account” or “Search for a product and add it to the cart”. The platform’s AI agent dynamically interacts with page content just like a human tester would, circumventing the need for static rules and complex coding.

Even if the AI encounters an issue, human-in-the-loop editing tools allow for easy corrections. Users can run tests in the cloud on a timer or integrate them directly into their CI/CD pipelines. Quacks.ai’s approach aims to make automated front-end testing accessible and practical, regardless of technical expertise.

ParagraphAI

ParagraphAI is one of many ChatGPT-powered generative text products on the market right now. So what makes it stand out from the rest? We decided to let ParagraphAI tell you itself (the following two paragraphs are AI generated text):

ParagraphAI stands out among other generative text products due to its unique combination of features and capabilities. Firstly, its advanced machine learning algorithms enable it to generate highly accurate and contextually relevant text. This ensures that the generated content is not only grammatically correct, but also coherent and meaningful.

Additionally, ParagraphAI offers a wide range of customisation options, allowing users to specify their desired writing tone, style, and even the length of the generated text. This level of control ensures that the output aligns perfectly with the user’s requirements.

Try It On

Located in Hong Kong, Try It On is in the professional photography space with an offering of AI-powered studio quality headshots. Targeting individuals and businesses, they transform regular selfies into professional images suitable for LinkedIn profiles, acting headshots, or corporate branding.

The process is user-friendly: customers visit studio.tryitonai.com, pay through Stripe, follow guidelines, and upload photos. After a few hours of processing (to ensure realistic images as opposed to cartoon-like instant results), customers receive their professional headshots.

Try It On offers company packages for brand consistency across their team headshots while only requiring selfies. Their tech uses a combination of existing AI products including Stable Diffusion and an additional ‘human touch’ editing option.

Scena.ai

This startup is in the generative video space. Its platform allows anyone to easily create ‘choose your own story’-style videos simply by typing in text prompts. Within minutes, Scena.ai can generate full-length videos complete with conversational AI avatars across more than 60 languages.

The ‘choose your own story’ element means users can build branching narrative videos that respond to viewer choices in real-time. This makes Scena.ai ideal for creating videos for customer onboarding, tutorials, eLearning, and similar.

No coding or technical expertise is required, the platform makes it simple to write dialogue, set up decision points, customise AI avatars (or upload your own custom ones), and tweak video designs.

AutoSlide

Autoslide is an AI-powered presentation creation tool deigned to take the sting out of creating a slide deck; simply write a description of what you want your presentation to be about and it generates a set of slides

This is more of a GenAI tool to get over writer’s block. Once you have a set of slides it’s then possible to expert to Google Slides or Powerpoint to edit and add in additional detail.
