Most conversations about AI sovereignty focus on the model: who trains it, who owns the weights, where inference runs. Samar Abbas, co-founder and CEO of Temporal, will talk about the layer underneath: the execution infrastructure that decides whether a company can actually change course later.

AI is moving into a new phase, with models reasoning, coding, searching and running increasingly long sequences of work. That shift is putting new pressure on the infrastructure beneath them, from inference chips and memory to data centres and energy. As Nvidia and a handful of US tech giants dominate the current AI hardware race, where can Europe compete, and what would it take to build a meaningful AI infrastructure industry of its own?

Can Europe win the AI chip war?

As trillions flow into the race for monolithic Artificial General Intelligence, a pragmatic question emerges: Is AGI actually the most economically viable architecture for productive enterprise work? In this debate, Cognizant Chief AI Officer Babak Hodjat makes the case for lean networks of composable, domain-specific agents—challenging frontier model leaders on whether general intelligence is a costly distraction from scalable, specialized AI.

Should we build AGI?

AI has learned to describe the world in words. The next frontier is teaching AI to understand the world as it really is: made of objects, movement, space, sound, and cause and effect. Visual intelligence gives machines a richer understanding of that reality. In this keynote, Andi Blattmann explores how Black Forest Labs is building the foundation of this next layer of intelligence, and how this foundation enables the next generation of physical AI.
