Meet our first mentors

How does the Women in Tech Mentor Programme work?

The Women in Tech Mentor Programme is a series of prescheduled 20-minute meetings between Web Summit attendees and speakers, partners, investors and more: our women in tech mentors.

The programme has three distinct tracks, each with its distinct focus: Grow, Lead and Change. Whether you want to change the tech industry for the better or take your career to the next level, we have the mentor for you.

How do we start our career as we mean to continue?

Join this track to learn how make your CV stand out in a crowded, and male-dominated field, how to get the deal you deserve once you’re in the door, and how asking for help can be the best thing you ever do.

How can we change perceptions of women at the top of their game?

Join this track to learn how we can actively contribute to changing how women in tech at the highest level are perceived, and how you can reach those lofty heights.

How do we introduce a meaningful diversity plan?

Join this track to learn how to make your voice heard when it comes to making your industry more inclusive, more diverse, and one where talent is recognised as it should be.

What is the Web Summit Women in Tech initiative?

In six short years, Web Summit has become “the world’s largest and leading technology conference”. But during that time female participation in the tech sector has been and continues to be a significant issue.

In 2016, we started an initiative to even the gender ratio at Web Summit. We gave 10,000 subsidised tickets to women around the world. It was incredibly successful. But we’re not stopping there. In 2017, we want to continue our Commitment to Change. This year, in partnership with Booking.com, we offered 14,000 subsidised tickets.
